Sharpedge CUTTING BOARD [MAPLE & BEECH WOOD] End Grain Style

These end grain cutting boards (or butcher's block) are handmade for us by a Slovenian woodworker, J. Gros and imported directly from him to us in Canada. The cutting board is made of maple and beech wood. End grain pieces of wood are assembled in the classic checkerboard pattern, a distinctive feature of end grain cutting boards.

It is completely hand-made, each cutting board has a slightly different pattern. With the working surface of 40x30cm (15.8" x 11.8") it is just the right size to fit onto any countertop, either at home or in the VAN. This cutting board is additionally impregnated with natural mineral oil (food safe USDA approved) that can be safely used in contact with food.

What's all the buzz with end grain cutting boards? Most importantly, your knives will appreciate it. End grain cutting boards are gentler to the knife's edge (comparing to the edge grain boards), meaning the knife will remain sharp for longer. Additionally, end grain boards have a "self-healing" property as the wood fibers close up after they have been cut by the knife. Wood is cool, right?

Natural Mineral Oil Included
A 50ml bottle of this natural mineral oil is included in the package so you can oil the board from time to time. These cutting boards are treated with a mixture of food-safe minerals and vegetable oils that are absorbed deeply into the wood. The top surface is covered with a special wood balm mixture to improve the impermeability (water-resistant) and conservation of cutting board.

Owners note: I have a van. I live in my van about 200 days a year. I have this board. It comes with underside anti slip knobs, but I found them too big. I personally added some small, medium and slightly larger, transparent anti skip knobs at no extra charge. test what works for you. keep the rest in a safe place, use them on chairs, tables, cabinet closers...whatever. :)
